Bale Shredders and Spreaders For Sale

Much work goes into the creation, tying and wrapping of bales, but after storage they need to be used, either in the barn or out on the field. That is where bale spreaders, bale splitters and bale shredders come in.

A bale splitter is a simple but useful machine which is used to take out the bale from the bale stack and then take it to the required feeding area. Once there, the bale can split by the machine. On some models, the plastic or net wrapping materials can be retained by the machine, and these materials can then be returned along with the machine to be disposed of properly back at base.

Bale ShreddersBale splitters can be specified for either square or round bales and can be used to split a variety of bale types, such as straw, hay or silage. The machines will often be powered by means of hydraulics and will feature a specially designed knife to achieve the cutting of the bale. The bale can be split into a feeding area or on to the feeding wagon. Bale splitters can also be used to simply push the split portions of the bale into the desired position. Bale splitters will often be supplied with three-point-linkage connections and can be used by tractors, loaders or materials handlers.

A bale shredder and spreader is also a fairly simple machine. A standard bale shredder design may consist of a big vertical drum into which the bale is dropped. At the bottom of the drum there is a rotary implement with cutting or ripping teeth. The action of the rotating teeth both shreds and spreads the bale over the required area. Bale shredders can be used as tractor attachments, while there are also smaller standalone, machines which can be used effectively in an indoor barn environment as the operator walks along behind the bale shredder.
