Volvo L25 Electric Wheel Loader Does The Heavy Lifting At Swedish Stud Farm
Menhammar Stuteri is one of Sweden's oldest and most prominent stud farms. The company recently purchased three Volvo L25 Electric wheel loaders to support its farm work. Located just outside Stockholm, the farm is one of many companies run by the family-owned Soya Group, along with shipping, retail estate, farm, and water purification endeavors.
Preserving Land For The Future
The land at Menhammar has been farmed for 800 years, and ensuring the farm survives for future generations requires careful management to maintain its biodiversity. To that end, Menhammar uses horse manure to provide nutrients to the arable land and a pond to capture phosphorous from the manure used in the fields to keep it from reaching waterways. Solar panels and a biofuel plant provide energy and heating, electric quad bikes are used to get around the farm, and the tractors run on hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO).
The three Volvo L25 Electric wheel loaders are just the latest step. The emission-free wheel loaders can perform various tasks on the farm indoors and out, including moving feed and hay for cows and horses, mucking out stables, and other material-handling duties without risk to the animals or the people. The farm also uses a sweeper attachment for cleaning.

Their near-silent and zero-emission operation makes them ideal for working near our horses and livestock. We can get closer to them without causing any unnecessary stress.”
About The Volvo L25 Electric
The electric wheel loader has a 48-volt lithium-ion battery with a 40-kilowatt-hour capacity. The electric driveline delivers 22 kilowatts of power, and the working hydraulics have 14 kW. Its standard bucket capacity is 0.9 cubic metres (1.17 cubic yards).
The Volvo L25 Electric has a runtime of up to six hours and has an onboard charger that can charge the machine from 0 to 100% in under six hours. The L25 Electric comes with the necessary charging cable, plug, and adapters for charging from either a wall socket or a wall box. Optional fast off-board chargers that can fully charge the wheel loader in under two hours are also available for indoor and outdoor use. The battery is designed for up to 2,500 complete charge cycles to align with the machine's life expectancy.
