Agricultural sweepers occupy a range of size brackets and can be self-propelled, self-contained units or alternatively require a tractor to both tow them and provide them with power.
Read More (Sweepers)Trailed sweepers which make use of a tractor’s PTO to turn moving parts are available and play an active role in maintaining an area of concrete or tarmac. These units are typically designed to collect leaves and other lightweight debris that may accumulate depending on the season. And although they require a separate source of power, they tend to be mechanically simple and thus easy to operate and repair. Used sweepers of this type can be very durable as well as inexpensive to procure, but should be checked for wear and tear nevertheless.
Ride-on sweepers which are powered by diesel or electric motors are suitable for use in keeping storage spaces and other smaller areas clean independently of any other equipment. Narrow, nimble and simple to use, with working widths of under a metre, these sweepers can collect dust, dirt and larger unwanted articles so that they can be disposed of with ease.
For outdoor use, there are also pedestrian sweepers which have to be moved by hand but can be great for collecting foliage from lawns and other grassy areas. There are also mid-sized self-powered sweepers which do not require a PTO to operate but instead generate their own momentum and are intended to be hooked up to an ATV to take on tasks across rougher terrain.
