    Simba

Simba began life in 1976. Its founder, Keith Burton, noticed the growing trend for large tractors of 300hp or more coming into the UK and decided there was a gap in the market for implements specifically designed to use that increased power.

The UK company grew quickly. Farmers responded well to being included in the development process for new machines, and this resulted in extremely practical machines. Simba developed a strong export business and sold extensively across Europe, North America and the Middle East. It also exported to Australia and New Zealand. By 2005, the company had grown to become a major player in the tillage market, both in the UK and worldwide.

The company continued to address the needs of arable farmers in all of these markets, and this resulted in the development of innovative new machines such as the Simba DTX, SL and SLD. In more recent years, the Centurion drill, with its ground-breaking design and excellent build quality, has added to that reputation.

Simba was acquired by Great Plains in 2010, combining two of the world's leading drilling and tillage companies. The company has since benefitted from substantial investment, and its Sleaford base has become the headquarters for Great Plains in Western Europe. The manufacturing capability has been extended by 34,000 feet, and office space has also been refurbished and extended. The new manufacturing plant now builds Simba-branded products in addition to Great Plains machines for sale in Western Europe. It is also the production centre for the new Centurion cultivator drill, a key product for the combined companies.

The company's product range includes presses and consolidation roller systems. The Simba brand continues with the Simba Aqueel II, Simba CultiPress, Simba DD Lite, Simba DD Ring, Simba Double Press, Simba Single Press and Simba UniPres. The vertical tillage range includes the Simba DTX, Simba Flatliner, Simba SL, Simba SLD, Simba ST-Bar and Simba TL. The cultivator family includes the Simba Disc Harrow and Simba X-Press. All products benefit from Simba's reputation for excellent build quality and careful product design.
